Peter is the founder of Cascade Digital, based in Carlisle, Cumbria. He started his entrepreneurial journey in 1997 — not with investment or a business plan, but out of pure necessity. With no money for a computer, he bought the parts wholesale, picked up a copy of "Building a PC for Dummies", and built one himself. He sold the spare parts to cover the cost, and never looked back.
By 1998 he had his first website idea. Another Dummies book. Six months later, a functioning site. Since then he has built over 100 websites across multiple platforms, earned 11 Google Certified Certificates in 2022, and helped nearly 15 businesses start, grow, and scale — from a window-cleaning round to LSW Sofas.
Today Cascade Digital serves small businesses across Cumbria and South West Scotland, delivering web design in Cumbria, SEO services, social media management, and AI-powered business automation — all under one roof, all with the same build-first, pay-when-happy promise.
Around 18 months ago, Cascade Digital began integrating AI automation into everything. The results were immediate. Tasks that took hours now take minutes. Emails that consumed two hours a day now take 20. Social media runs on autopilot. Weekly blog posts go from idea to published in ten minutes.
That experience became a service. We've built platforms like The Lakes Planner and Cumbria Trade Directory, helped businesses like ACABS and Forget Me Not by Emma find and win new customers, and delivered ongoing SEO, content, and automation support that keeps working long after launch.

Peter runs Cascade Digital from Atlas Works in Carlisle city centre — alongside two other ventures, all managed from the same base. But life doesn't stop at the screen. Peter is a dad to three amazing daughters — his proudest achievement by a long stretch. He shares his home with Ellie, his fiancée, and Cass, his loyal Staffordshire Bull Terrier and biggest fan.
